Residential Care

A Place to Stay. A Space to Grow.

For children who live with us, Ved becomes part of life beyond school hours — bringing accommodation and schooling together in one caring space.

Caretakers are on hand throughout their stay, while families stay closely connected through open visiting access.

Life in the Hostel

A Different Side of the Day.

Once classroom activities are over, children move into another part of their day.

The hostel gives them a place to unwind, spend time with peers and settle into life beyond school hours. The pace may be different from the classroom, yet these hours bring experiences of their own.

Being around the same people and surroundings over time can create a sense of familiarity and belonging. Children begin to recognise the flow of residential life and find their own place within it.

This makes the hostel more than accommodation. It becomes a living space where children spend an important part of their time at Ved.

Small Responsibilities. Valuable Experiences.

Daily living involves many ordinary tasks, and residential care gives children another setting in which to become involved in them.

Personal routines, getting ready and looking after oneself are part of the experience of staying away from home. Children can take part according to what they are able to manage, with assistance available when required.

Regular involvement can help a child become more aware of their own routine and the things that form part of it.

The value lies in giving children a chance to take part in their day, rather than simply moving through it.

Care & Assistance

Help Available When It Is Needed.

Children can require different kinds and levels of assistance during a residential stay.

Caretakers are available to help children while they are staying at Ved. Their presence provides a point of assistance as children go about their time in the hostel.

Care can also mean recognising when to help and when to give a child room to do something themselves.

This balance allows children to receive the assistance they need while continuing to remain actively involved in the things they can manage.

Learning the Rhythm of Shared Living.

Staying in a hostel means being around other children outside structured school activities.

Children encounter the natural social experiences that come from spending time together - observing one another, communicating, adjusting to different personalities and becoming aware of others within the same space.

Shared living can introduce simple but valuable experiences such as waiting, taking turns, spending time as a group and finding ways to interact with those around them.

These moments add a social dimension to residential life that develops naturally through being together.

Families Stay Connected

Home Remains Close.

A child's residential experience continues alongside an important relationship with home and family.

Parents can visit their child at any time, allowing them to stay connected and involved while their child is living at Ved.

This gives families the freedom to spend time with their child and remain present in their journey.

For parents considering residential care, knowing that this connection can continue openly is an important part of understanding life at Ved.

Safety Within the Hostel

Practical Measures Around Their Stay.

Safety is an important consideration in any residential setting. Ved has confirmed CCTV, a first-aid box and fire-safety provisions within its residential facility. These measures form part of the practical arrangements surrounding children during their stay, alongside the presence of caretakers who are available to assist them.

School & Residential Care Together

One Place. Two Important Parts of the Day.

For children staying with us, school and residential care exist within the same larger setting.

During school hours, their time is centred around education, practical work and activities. Residential hours bring a different focus through personal routines, time with others and living away from home.

Having these two parts of the child's experience connected within Ved creates continuity. The nature of the day changes, while the surroundings and people remain known to the child.

It allows school life and residential life to have their own roles while still belonging to one larger journey.

A Place That Becomes Part of Their Story.

A residential space is shaped by much more than where a child stays. It is shaped by the people they spend time with, the responsibilities they begin to recognise, the relationships they form and the moments that gradually become part of their own experience. Our hostel gives children another space within Ved to discover how they can manage, interact and find their place in the world around them.
